FIA World Endurance Championship Classes

LMP1

The Le Mans Prototype 1 (LMP1) class is the top class in the FIA World Endurance Championship. LMP1 cars are purpose-built race cars that are designed to be as fast and efficient as possible.

LMP1 cars are powered by a variety of engines, including turbocharged gasoline engines, naturally-aspirated gasoline engines, and diesel engines. They are also equipped with a variety of aerodynamic features, including wings, spoilers, and diffusers.

LMP1 cars are driven by teams of three drivers. The drivers must work together to drive the car as fast as possible while also conserving fuel and tires.

LMP2

The Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class is the second-highest class in the FIA World Endurance Championship. LMP2 cars are based on production cars, but they are heavily modified for racing.

LMP2 cars are powered by naturally-aspirated gasoline engines. They are also equipped with a variety of aerodynamic features, but they are not as aggressive as the aerodynamic features on LMP1 cars.

LMP2 cars are driven by teams of four drivers. The drivers must work together to drive the car as fast as possible while also conserving fuel and tires.

LMGTE Pro

The Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance Pro (LMGTE Pro) class is a class for production-based sports cars. LMGTE Pro cars are modified for racing, but they retain many of the features of their production counterparts.

LMGTE Pro cars are powered by a variety of engines, including turbocharged gasoline engines, naturally-aspirated gasoline engines, and diesel engines. They are also equipped with a variety of aerodynamic features, but they are not as aggressive as the aerodynamic features on LMP1 and LMP2 cars.

LMGTE Am

The Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance Am (LMGTE Am) class is a class for amateur drivers. LMGTE Am cars are based on production cars, but they are heavily modified for racing.
