What is the Congestion Charge?
The London Congestion Charge is a fee charged on most cars and motor vehicles being driven within the Congestion Charge Zone (CCZ) in Central London. The CCZ is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding Christmas Day (25th December).
How Much is the Congestion Charge?
The Congestion Charge costs £15 if you pay in advance or on the same day. It costs £17.50 if you pay by midnight of the third day after you travel. However, you need to pay both the Congestion Charge, ULEZ and/or LEZ charges to drive in London.
When Do I need to Pay the Congestion Charge?
You need to pay the Congestion Charge if you drive within the CCZ:
- 07:00-18:00 Monday-Friday
- 12:00-18:00 Saturday-Sunday and bank holidays
