The Minnesota Timberwolves stunned the Dallas Mavericks 119-101 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night. Despite a strong fourth-quarter run by Dallas, Minnesota held on to secure the victory.
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 33 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Timberwolves' balanced attack. Karl-Anthony Towns led Minnesota with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards added 21 points and 6 assists.
The Mavericks closed the gap to within three points with 4:09 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Timberwolves responded with a 6-0 run to put the game away.
